Christianity is for rule-keeping people.” “Christians are no fun.” Are these statements accurate? Was Jesus a frown-maker? A joy-killer? No. Jesus intended that the lives of His disciples be spontaneous and filled with joy rather than burdensome and boring. However, we are not motivated by action-filled lives or by adventure-filled moments; we are fueled by something much more profound – the love of Christ. Beware of people who associate momentary and circumstantial happiness as being God’s desire for His people. The desire of Jesus is that His disciples would experience a joy-filled life flowing from obeying His commands that are anchored in His worth and love for them. Today, we will consider that Jesus wants you to live “Your Best Life Now.”
