I could not watch and laugh anymore at them after Carman and Evander Holyfield started showing up on there and getting bizarre as I used to love those guys.
I call TBN the “PTL Club 2”, though there are many brothers and sisters in Christ that enjoy TBN and watch a few shows here and there.
I even think Charles Stanley’s In Touch is still on there so it is not all complete gar-boje right?
Still I would never send them a dime. 😉
That blog was indeed funny, and I love good satire, but we must be careful that we do not get into having so much fun slamming those we disagree with that we give the world fuel for the fire of how Christians constantly fight and disagree with each other.
So do we tell people that we love Creflo Dollar (maybe even Ron Parsley) as a brother in Christ, though we strongly disagree with his teaching, or do we blanket-ly say that these are not true believers because of some of the heresies they teach? Would seem like an easy out though.
I for one cannot make a blanket statement about their standing with God, but definitely about their teaching on prosperity.
Just me on this one?

There is a huge difference between a false teacher and a heretic. I define them in this way. A false teacher (teaching something that is false as a result of some human weakness) can/will teach something that is contrary to Scripture and this could be attributed to all sorts of reasons – maturity, upbringing, education, etc.
However, a heretic is a person who gets the Gospel wrong. They believe a wrong Gospel and, therefore, teach a wrong Gospel. It is hard to get a bead on the teachers on TBN since they rarely present the Gospel. I hear bit ad pieces of the Gospel, but it is a very rare thing to hear a clear, straightforward Gospel presentation. “The Way of the Master” ministry is an exception. So, it is hard to land on most people. Now, people like Robert Schuller who I have read his exact belief regarding the Gospel would be a heretic.
Guiroo, it’s hard to make a categorical statement of where Creflo stands based on this short clip and little direct info. However, Creflo’s teaching here really does put him in the heretic category. Creflo is simply siphoning off “Papa” Hagins teaching. I feared that Billy Graham looked more like a heretic than a Christian at one point (ff to 3:43-5:16). However, I believe he has retracted or clarified this statement.
