It’s the day after the “Triumphal Entry” and Jesus re-enters Jerusalem, but this time he is walking. There is no ceremony, no joy-filled cheers, no shouts for deliverance. It is early and Jesus is hungry. Jesus sees a fig tree down the road and makes his way toward it. The look on Jesus’ face moves from merely seeing the tree to examine it. Seemingly out of nowhere, Jesus curses the tree and walks away. Why does he do that?
