The Incomprehensible God

Monday, March 30, 2020 by Tim Bell Leave a Comment

As we continue our study of the Supreme God and God’s passion for His glory, I wanted to share a poem I wrote back in 2014 as I pondered our Infinite and Incomprehensible Uncreated Creator.

His age can never be given,
His past has an infinite start,
His universe cannot hold Him,
His Spirit exceeds every part,
His brightness is beyond knowing,
His splendor surpasses the stars,
His praise is sung by the heavens,
His choir is His glorious art,
His earth speaks to His perfection,
His works are a sign with His mark,
His moon directs tides and oceans,
His sun sends forth rays in the dark,
His mercy dares explanation,
His grace overwhelms sinner’s hearts,
His cross kills logical reason,
The Incomprehensible God.

What a joy to know that He is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. And for those who follow Christ and who have placed their trust in Him, we will have the opportunity to glorify and enjoy our Savior forever as we learn more and more about the One that has infinite power and knowledge.

May we be encouraged by our Supreme God and His Word:

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Hebrews 1:3

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Psalm 19:1

The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
Psalm 93:1

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Psalm 96:6

Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty
Psalm 104:1

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?
Psalm 139:7

His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise
Habakkuk 3:3b
