The Lord’s Supper Reflects Christ in the Passover/Exodus

Sunday, April 7, 2019 by Ken Rutherford Leave a Comment

It’s the night of Passover. The day when the lambs that have been paraded into town four days before are to be slaughtered in preparation for every family’s feast. This night, Jesus and his disciples gather in an upper room where the meal has been prepared. On this night, Passover takes on a whole new meaning —the very meaning that was intended to be understood by the people in the first place. It is on this night that Jesus says, “this is my body” and “this is my blood…” Join Jesus at the table and learn why this meal is different from all the rest.

Scripture references: Mark 14:22-25, Psalm 118:1-4, Psalm 113:1-6, Mark 14:12-16, Exodus 12:1-28, Exodus 12:39, Deuteronomy 16:3, John 8:31-34, 1 Peter 2:24, Hebrews 10:10, Psalm 117, Exodus 6:6-7, Matthew 8:11, Revelation 19:6-9, Revelation 3:20, 2 Samuel 9, 1 Corinthians 11:26, Psalm 118:19-24
