Pride, Pleasure, and Shiny Things: How We Are Tempted

Saturday, October 27, 2018 by Pat Dirrim Leave a Comment

The Hook : 2018 Student Retreat

Temptations are a normal part of everyone’s life. In them, we are enticed to believe lies drawing us away from God. These lies tempt us through our physical needs, our desires for pleasure, and our desire to elevate ourselves above others. We must always be on guard and fight against these temptations through reclaiming our identity, reordering our desires, and reframing our future. In this second talk of the weekend, the big idea is that Satan tempts people three main ways and Christians need to constantly be on guard against each of those ways.
