Temptations are a normal part of everyone’s life. In them, we are enticed to believe lies drawing us away from God. These lies tempt us through our physical needs, our desires for pleasure, and our desire to elevate ourselves above others. We must always be on guard and fight against these temptations through reclaiming our identity, reordering our desires, and reframing our future. In this first talk of the weekend, we start with a look at what temptation is. The big idea here is that temptations come from inside us and from outside us as lies dressed up as truths which we are encouraged to believe, but which ultimately lead to death.
