GraceTALK, September 2018

Sunday, September 2, 2018 by Marty Kronz, Larry Farlow and Drew Pearce Leave a Comment

We value asking questions to better understand how to live life in a God-centered, Christ-exalting way. We believe that church should be the best place in which people can get solid answers to life’s questions.

Q1 (01:39). I am particularly confused about the statement that Jesus makes in Mathew 5:17: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” What exactly does this mean and how does it apply to us today? I have a friend who seems to be in a rut spiritually and I don’t know what to do. I see the lack of joy and the toying with the world and feel helpless. I want better for him…

Q2 (11:20). How do we as disciples of Jesus relate to the Sabbath? In Leviticus 23:3 it says, “‘There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.” Does this apply to us today? Why or why not? Also, where do things like eating or not eating pork fit into our current Christian lives?

Q3 (35:05). How are we to interpret/apply the topic of head-coverings and long hair as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 11?
