As we transition from summer to school starting back, now is a great time to fall into a new Bible reading habit, get back on track if you’re reading the Bible through in a year, or simply start a new journey. If this is the nudge you need, get going…
Crossway recently released a study where they polled over 6,000 people to learn about their Bible study habits. The asked questions like, “When do you read the Bible?”, “How Often?”, “What time of day?”, “When was the last time you read each book of the Bible?”, and “Do you journal when reading the Bible?” You may find their interesting infographic here.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).
How about you? Are you reading the Bible daily? Beyond just reading, are you meditating, memorizing, and digging deep into God’s Word?
A helpful tool that I use is YouVersion The Bible App which provides one year plans with audio for those on the go, all types of topical devotionals, and the ability to share your progress with friends, or invite friends to participate with you. My wife and I recently went through several couples devotionals together. This is not an endorsement of all plans and devotions so choose carefully. When I want to dig deep, I go to BibleHub for word studies and looking up the original Greek and Hebrew meaning, and for memorization there’s FighterVerses.
