For most of the western world, today is known as Halloween which is the second most popular holiday on the annual calendar based upon dollars spent. But, what many people don’t know, is that it was on this day 500 years ago that Martin Luther sparked the Reformation wresting the truth out of the dark hands of the oppressive Catholic Church by exposing the light from within God’s beautiful word!

The resources abound on the internet as to the significance of this event and how it came to pass. May we all stand amazed at our great God who would choose to use fallible humans to carry forth His word of life and hope into the darkness of a dying world. May we never waver from its supreme and all-satisfying authority which is derived from and always points to Jesus Christ!
