The big picture of Jesus’ mission to bring the Kingdom of God (1:1) comes into sharp focus through the life of one man in desperate need of deliverance. While humanity was created in God’s image Mark introduces us to a man who has been taken captive by the enemy of God. In the life of this demonized man, we see the Kingdom of God advancing through Jesus, rescuing those who have been taken captive.
