Spring Semester of Women’s Bible Study begins Wednesday, January 11th. We will begin by taking a few weeks diving into HOW to study our Bibles by reading Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts and Our Minds by Jen Wilkin. “We all know it’s important to study God’s Word. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. What’s more, a lack of time, emotionally driven approaches, and past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. How can we, as Christian women, keep our focus and sustain our passion when reading the Bible? Offering a clear and concise plan to help women go deeper in their study of Scripture, the book will equip you to engage God’s Word in a way that trains your mind and transforms your heart.”
After we learn how to study our Bible, we will put our skills into practice with a 9 week study of The Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin. No matter what stage of life or how seasoned a believer, you will benefit from studying The Sermon on The Mount! It articulates what the life of a Christ follower should look like, asking us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple of Jesus Christ relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak and act? In this study, we will examine the words of Jesus Christ in-depth as He challenges us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification.
This Bible Study semester will be offered on Wednesday mornings, from 9:30 – 11:30 am and Wednesday evenings, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Childcare and Homeschool room are available in the morning session.
