What are you giving your kids this year for Christmas? How much will you spend? How will it benefit them?
Certainly there are many great things to give our kids. Things that will bring excitement and joy and hours of entertainment. There are even things that we can give them that will help them in their daily life. Is there something more we can do?
Listen to the word of God from Psalm 145:3-4 (ESV)
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
The divine Son of God taking on the form of humanity, being born as a baby, is a mighty act of God. This is reason for praising God and exalting Christ. This is a work to declare to the next generation. This is an event that should be commended to our children.
This year as you prepare for Christmas let us not simply tag Christmas Day with a quick reference to the birth of Jesus. Why not spend the whole month exalting Christ and making much of God so your children can be in awe of our magnificent God and what truly remarkable deed He has done?
This year make sure you are spending your time giving your kids a Godly legacy. What could be greater than that? The benefits are of eternal value.
This year a Family Worship Advent Guide has been created for you to use in conjunction with our Sunday Morning Advent Readings that will begin November 29th and end at our Christmas Eve service. There are four sections in this guide that each coincide with the Advent reading themes for each week and a final fifth one that goes along with the Christmas Eve reading.

These are intended to help you make much of Jesus during a busy holiday season.
Teaching God’s Word and modeling the walk of a christian for our children is a great privilege that we have as parents. We have a daily opportunity to be imparting a Godly legacy to them. As a children’s ministry we desire to partner with you in this endeavor. If you do not have a regular time in family devotions or you have questions about how to best use this guide please contact me. It would be a privilege for him to help and serve you in impacting the next generation.
