Last week we saw how David was forgiven for his sin of adultery and homicide on the basis of Jesus’ death and resurrection that would one day occur. However, David hasn’t “arrived” in terms sanctification. We must guard against thinking forgiveness of sins means consequences will not occur. According to the Bible, grace does not eliminate consequences; grace is provided by God to strengthen us to endure the consequences of our sin.
