While David is called “a man after God’s own heart,” we will see him in the passage today as a man who lives as though he hates God. David’s diappointing actions will make you crave justice and wish for a king who won’t yield to illicit desires. You will find yourself longing for something in David that could only be provided by King Jesus. It is an amazing reality that even in King David’s sin we see the silhouette of Jesus, the glorious King to come that we can not only count on, but we can place all of our hope in.
