In the construction of a building, it is the foundation that is the most important element of build because without a proper foundation, the entire building is in danger of failing. In Christianity, the belief that Jesus rose from the grave is not only important, it is critical. Without the resurrection of Jesus, there is no compelling reason to be a Christian. If Jesus did not rise from the grave, Jesus was not born of a virgin, did not heal anyone, did not feed the 5,000, did not raise Lazarus from the dead, and all of his teaching could be brought in to question. The resurrection is to Christianity what the heart is to a person—critical for life.
