The last 9 days have proven to be a roller coaster of emotions for the disciples. The disciples have experienced both ends of the “good days/bad days” spectrum. To see their Lord arrested, crucified, and then hear that He is risen then seeing Him appear in the upper room to then be told “as the Father sent me so I am sending you” must have been a wild emotional ride! On the heals of being sent by the risen Christ, John the Apostle records the next moments – seven disciples led by Simon Peter decide to go fishing. While we should not call this action apostasy, we cannot call this choice the result of being faithful followers of Jesus. Somewhere between the disciple’s faithless low and their spiritual high we see the incredible care of Jesus.
