In His humanity, Jesus was like we are in every way. Yet, He lived a perfect life fully submitting to His Father. He grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man. He learned obedience and qualified to be the second Adam…the substitute for all those who would trust in Him. Jesus did this…all of this…not through the power of His divine nature, although He was 100% God as well. If that were the case, He would not have qualified to be a substitute for humanity. Rather, the Bible teaches that Jesus perfectly obeyed His Father due to the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit in His life. This is simply amazing because this very same Holy Spirit resides inside of each and every Christian who has ever lived.
