Dear Grace Fellowship Family,
We wanted to update you on some exciting news. Today, we received formal approval from the county to begin the site work for the new building. This is a HUGE blessing.
A couple of days ago, our contractor, Merit Construction, began putting up erosion control fencing. This will be in place for much of the construction process. It must be done before any grading can take place. The contractor also requested an inspection for next Tuesday, weather permitting. The county will review the fencing, and if approved, will give us permission to begin grading the land. The grading should take several weeks. After that, we would begin preparation to lay the foundation of the building.
In addition, this week the “Little E” grading company, the subcontractor in charge of prepping the site, tore down the vacant house. This was in preparation for the grading and other site work.
These are exciting times, and there are going to be lots of opportunities to be involved and to help as we move forward together.
In any of these scenarios, we want everyone to pray and ask, “How can I can be involved in what God is doing?” There will be more opportunities for greeters, for teachers, for small group leaders, for nursery, children, and student workers, and for a variety of other ministries. But our overall mission is to see God transform people by the power of the gospel. We are excited about the opportunities for ministry that our new location can provide, and pray that it will be used for His glory.
Our primary goal has never been to build a building. It is to see God spread His fame through our community and ultimately to the world. Our desire is to see the gospel of Jesus transform people’s lives into devoted disciple-making followers of Christ who treasure Him above all things.
To that end, we seek His will as we consider these things together. May our good and great God continue to give us unity, clarity, wisdom and peace as we seek to honor Him in all of these things. To Him be the glory!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the elders. It is our pleasure to serve with you.
