As we sling toward a new year it is important for all of us to measure the growth we are experiencing as followers of Christ. Unfortunately, many sincere Christians have a tendency to measure both their maturity and the maturity of others based on theological knowledge. The guy who has all the answers in Sunday morning Connections or the woman who can find the passage the quickest or talk about theological themes in women’s Bible study often get branded as being “mature” since they posses more knowledge of the Bible than others. But is knowledge of something the same as being mature in applying that something? Just because someone sounds spiritually mature does not mean they are spiritual mature. While aiming at pastors, Paul David Tripp helps us all consider this issue. We hope that this is helpful for you to evaluate your own outlook as we move into 2014.
