Dear Grace Fellowship Family:
We wanted to update you on the latest information on the proposed new buildings.
As most of you know, we are in preparations for breaking ground on the land we purchased on Ronald Reagan.
This week, we had a “public participation meeting” on Thiursday night. This is one of the county requirements in order to receive our building permits.
The meeting went great. In fact, not even one person showed up to express concern, objection etc. This is great news! To prepare for that meeting, and in an effort to be proactive with all of our neighbors, we invited every landowner within 500 yards of the property to let them know of our plans, and asked them to please attend if they have any objections, questions, concern, etc. We also told them they could call us or our attorney if they had any concerns. No one has contacted us so far.
So, now that we have had the required public participation meeting, we can now file a request to be on the agenda for the next Forsyth County Planning board meeting, which will be in June. We will let you know when a date has been confirmed.
Between now and that meeting, we will meet with each member of the planning board to try to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns.
If all goes well at that meeting, the next step is to submit a formal Application for the Board of County Commissioners’ Consideration. Since church’s are now required to obtain a Conditional Use Permit, part of that process involves submitting the plans to the Board of County Commission.
Throughout this process, we want to honor the Lord and see His fame spread, and we ask that you continue to pray for several things:
First, that we will continue to have unity, clarity, wisdom, and peace as we seek to honor the Lord throughout this process.
Second, that the Planning Board will approve of our plans at their next meeting in June.
Third, that we will be wise in working with the contractors bidding on the building project and evaluating and selecting one.
Fourth, that regardless of circumstances or outcomes, we will declare our trust that God is in control, and that things will work out as they should in His perfect will.
Please continue to pray that our gracious God guides us through this process and that we are faithful to do His will and depend on Him in this effort for His glory.
As we continue in our preparations to break ground we will give regular updates. In addition, we encourage you to come and pray each week prior to the service at 8:30 in room 11. You can also stop by tomorrow after Connections in room 10 to ask any questions you may have.
Have a blessed week. We’ll see you tomorrow as we worship together!
