Dear Grace Fellowship Family:
We wanted to update you on the latest information on the proposed new buildings.
As most of you know, we are in preparations for breaking ground on the land we purchased on Ronald Reagan.
The last few weeks we have had several things going on concerning the land.
First, a Preliminary Zoning Review meeting held on May 1 with Forsyth County officials. It went very well. We praise God for His kindness in this matter! The purpose of that meeting was to go over our initial site plans, and to make sure we have done all that is needed so far.
The engineer working for Grace Fellowship has done a great job working with all of the Forsyth County departments, insuring that our plans meet all of the requirements required. At that meeting, we were given red signs to post on the property, which you may have noticed as you pass our property on Ronald Reagan, announcing a Public Participation Meeting to be held May 16. We then sent letters to all of our neighbors in the community announcing the church’s application to build on the property, and inviting them to come to the meeting and ask any questions they may have. This meeting is very informal.
If all goes well at that meeting, the next step is to submit a formal Application for the Board of County Commisioners’ Consideration. We do not anticipate any negative response to the church plans at the public participation meeting, so we plan to submit our formal application for board consideration on May 17. Since church’s are now required to obtain a Conditional Use Permit, we are required to submit it to the Board of County Commission. This is where we are currently in the process.
Meanwhile, several contractors have received our Request for Proposal, and we anticipate receiving their bids soon and can begin scheduling meetings to review their cost and schedule estimates.
Throughout this process, we want to honor the Lord and see His fame spread, and we ask that you continue to pray for several things:
First, that we will continue to have unity, clarity, wisdom, and peace as we seek to honor the Lord throughout this process.
Second, that the public participation meeting will go smoothly on May 16th, and we can move swiftly to submit a formal application for Board consideration on May 17.
Third, that we will be wise in working with the contractors bidding on the building project and evaluating and selecting one.
Fourth, that regardless of circumstances or outcomes, we will declare our trust that God is in control, and that things will work out as they should in His perfect will.
Please continue to pray that our gracious God guides us through this process and that we are faithful to do His will and depend on Him in this effort for His glory.
As we continue in our preparations to break ground we will give regular updates. In addition, we encourage you to come and pray each week prior to the service at 8:30 in room 11.
As always, please feel free to contact us or to ask any questions that you may have. Have a blessed week. We’ll see you Sunday as we worship together!
