Here is an update from the Building and Land Team:
In our last update we reported that county engineers want us to put in a detention pond in order to limit water runoff to adjacent properties. The initial requirements from the county impacted our site plan significantly in parking space and cost.
Since then our engineers have been meeting with the county Civil Engineers and have developed solutions that will meet county code and minimize the impact to our site at a reduced cost and are workable for our church. We are submitting our site plan to the county next week for approval. We expect the approval process to take about 2 weeks.
After evaluating several vendors, we have selected All Pro Sound of Pensacola, Florida to design and install our sound and lighting in the assembly area. All Pro Sound has an excellent track record and has lots of experience in church audio/visual design and implementation. In addition, All Pro Sound will be working with Russ Berger, an acoustics expert who is very well known within the industry, to design our sound environment. This is a key part of our building project to insure that the assembly area provides a pleasant sound level that is free of echos and booms.
In the past several weeks we have invited our church members to room 10 after Sunday Connections to view the building floor plan and site plan for comments and suggestions. We received a lot of good feedback and made adjustments. This week we finalized our building floor plan. Now the architects will work to complete the technical specifications, including the work to be done with the Audio/Visual designers. We hope to complete that work by the end of the month and be ready to submit to selected general contractors in early March.
