January 22, 2013 will mark the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the insidious U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. One of the arguments from those who support the right of a mother to take the life of a child is that without this service abortions would still occur and babies would still be aborted just in “back rooms and alleys.” While there maybe those who choose to take this route, is this an argument or simply an observation? I mean, we will always have those who choose to do ghastly deeds in our society, but do we really want to trade one type of atrocity for another? Why would anyone surrender to this type of either/or argument to justify the taking of a life? I will leave the development of this rationale for another blog …
Suffice it to say that to counter this “back rooms and alleys” argument, I offer the horrific story in the following video entitled, 3801 Lancaster. “Through interviews with victims, reporters, neighbors, and footage of Philadelphia District Attorney R. Seth William’s testimony before the Pennsylvania Senate, the film tells the tragic story of Dr. Gosnell, his clinic, the women and children he killed, and the state oversight agencies that turned a blind eye for over twenty years.” Have we as a nation spawned a type of profound evil that is rarely whispered about throughout history? Is this the legacy of our nation?
