Politics And The Church

Tuesday, September 4, 2012 by Larry Farlow 2 Comments

How and when should the church respond to social issues? What is the relationship between the church and politics? This past Sunday I had the opportunity to address that question along with other members of the leadership team during GraceTALK. You can listen to that discussion here.

As an additional resource, below is the video I mentioned in my answer. Here, Bill Kynes, Voddie Baucham and Mark Dever give their perspectives on this complex issue:

Another excellent resource is Kevin DeYoung & Mark Gilbert’s book What Is the Mission of the Church?  Thanks to the recent T4G conference, I have an extra copy of this book. If you’re a member or attender of Grace Fellowship and you’d like to have it, leave a comment on this post letting me know. The first person to comment gets the book.

    Hi Larry,

I would like the book if it is still available. I’ve heard the the term “separation of church and state” has taken on a connotation that was not intended when the issue(s) were originally decided.
