graceTALK, July 2012

Sunday, July 8, 2012 by Tim Bell, Larry Farlow, Kevin Hosner and Dan Miller Leave a Comment

The Leadership Team answers your questions.

Q1 (1:05). Is it my place to tell someone that they are not a believer when they say they are a believer?  How far do I go in making a judgment and yet not being judgmental?

Q2 (12:45). Genesis 1:27 says that, “God created man … male and female He created them.”  Later, in Genesis 2:22, it says, God made “a woman and brought her to the man.”  Please explain how these support one another vs. contradict one another.  Also, Genesis 9:19 says from Noah’s sons came all the people of the earth.  Please explain how/why the various races of the world exist if all came from these three brothers and their wives?

Q3 (25:40). There are those who believe in the “Big Bang” theory of evolution and say they believe because it is easy to believe and yet find the concept of God such a hard thing to believe in.  I speak to them from my soul w/the Holy Spirit, but they don’t accept.  I bring them to church, but they don’t accept.  Am I missing something?  Is there a way I could explain things to them better? Quite frankly, I feel like I am trying to catch a greased pig!

Q4 (35:38). How do I communicate my feelings regarding same-sex marriage and yet not come off as close-minded and bigoted.  Also, what are some non-biblical reasons to oppose same sex marriage?  I say this because I can’t expect that lost people will act/submit to the same standards as Christians, so why should we impose this particular standard solely based on what the Bible says?  Thanks for the help on this tough issue.
