We Are Changed

Monday, February 13, 2012 by Kevin Schultz Leave a Comment

Yesterday Pastor Dan closed his message on John 1:35-42 emphasizing Jesus changes everything.  As the band returned to the stage, I remembered a song from Sojourn called “We are Changed” which is a reworked version of an Isaac Watts hymn.  Here are the lyrics of the chorus:

We are changed, no longer in chains
Once were enslaved but the Son has come
And conquered the grave, so we are changed.
We are changed not by the things weʼve arranged
Not by the work our hands have done
Itʼs through Your Son that we are changed.

I think this song will complement the John series well, so I encourage you to give it a listen this week.  You never know, it might be part of this coming Sunday’s music (hint, hint).  Sojourn has also recorded some other songs we sing at Grace Fellowship, like “Refuge”, “In the Shadow of Your Glorious Cross”, “May Your Power Rest on Me”, and “Only Your Blood”.  I appreciate their pairing of modern style with great lyrics dense with the truth of the Gospel.

Here are some ways to listen to “We are Changed” by Sojourn:
