Have you wondered if religious people have exaggerated the identity of Jesus over the centuries? Maybe Jesus was just a great teacher who was made into the “Savior of the world?” Did the earliest of followers believe what we believe today about Jesus? The logic goes like this, if we are to believe that Jesus is the God-man then that is precisely what the first-followers and Apostles of Jesus must have believed about Him. I don’t have any interest in following Jesus if He is just another great teacher or prophet sent from God. Learn from? Yes. Admire? For sure. Follow as Lord of my life? No thanks. So, is there evidence to support this? Today, we will examine the first witness that the Apostle John presents as evidence regarding the identity of Jesus Christ. The man commonly known as, John the Baptist.
