In this last teaching of the Spectrum series, we will be considering probably the most difficult subject we can about God, that God is willful. I’m not talking about the “will of God” in regarding to where you should live, who you should marry, or what you should do for a living. The subject we are tackling today makes those issues look meager. Today we are going to the deep-end of the pool in considering how God makes decisions. Why is this so hard? Because God doesn’t make decisions like us, He knows what He wants, He does what He wants, and to God there are no contingency plans. In other words, there are no “ops” in God’s vocabulary. However, in the Bible we see times in which God seems to want something and yet that thing doesn’t occur. Yet, there are times in which God is very clear that everything that does occur happens because wants it to happen. in bringing these two realities together we learn about how God makes decisions and this path will always lead us to the cross that is meant to satisfy us at every level of understanding this difficult subject.
The “Spectrum” series is about exploring some of those characteristics of God with a view to see Him more clearly and then worship Him more passionately. MP3 download.
