To many of us the expression “love” should really be called “advanced like” or “almost love” because we so often express love when [whatever] the object of our love is treating us the way we want or making our lives better. But, have you noticed how often people turn away from those who would make their lives difficult? Many turn away and even run away from people when they get even a whiff of tension or rejection. Why? We have whittled uncommon, self-giving, willful love down to a self-oriented, “what have you done for me lately” emotion. God’s love is not like that at all. The love of God pursues, it hunts in a holy, persistent way always wanting the best for the object of His love. Why? He cannot, not love. It is who He is.
Today’s part 4 of the Spectrum series will uncover what it means when we say, “God is love.” We will also see how God being love will necessarily mold us in how we relate to one another. MP3 download.
