As the saying goes, “Tell me whom you love and I will tell you who you are.” The book of Ruth has expressed this sentiment perfectly. Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz all have related to each other in direct proportion to what they love. The pain of a love lost obscured Naomi’s view of God for years. It was not until Ruth’s love for Naomi and the God of Israel that Naomi was able to see the goodness of God again. It was the love that Boaz had for the Lord that inspired him to love Ruth because he saw the reflection of the Lord in her devotion to Naomi. It was the love that Ruth had for the God of Israel that was clearly evident to Boaz that secured her hope for a future. As we push toward the end of this series, it is our hope that the truths uncovered today will increase your love for God and express that love in your life toward others.
