The Earth is Full of His Glory!?

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 by Dan Miller 2 Comments

Periodically, we will sing a song(s) that has a phrase that relates to the earth being “full of His glory.” Have you ever wondered what that means? The idea is that the very creative-order in the world speaks to a Creator. And, it is this creative-order, communicates to us things about the Creator-God. Whether it is variety, beauty, complexity, simplicity, harmony, etc., there is something of an imprint of the Creator on all of creation.

With this in mind, consider the Top Ten New Species for 2001 by the International Institute for Species Exploration at Arizona State University. As you peruse the descriptions, allow your mind to wander in the worship of our amazing God.

I once heard Philip Yancy give a talk on this subject. He considered the invention of the dive suit and aqua lung and how we really didn’t know the beauty contained in the seas until the 1800s.

On another note, I subscribe to a blog that has a whole section on the latest discovery of new species. (Though most of the blog is about creatures not yet recognized by, “science” … yet.)
