Pastor Pat sent the following to the men of Grace Fellowship and I thought it would be insightful for the rest of Grace Fellowship to consider:
Gentlemen-
Yesterday was Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is still celebrated by the Jews. I commend to you this nine minute video which Justin Taylor had up on his blog that helps understand the background to it and magnifies the value of the Great Lamb’s sacrifice. It is appropriate for kids (they don’t actually show any killing) and I would encourage watching it with them and your wife and then discussing Isaiah 53 and Christ’s sacrifice and our sinfulness and what is/was required to make payment for it. This would be a great way to lead in your family’s growth with the Lord.
