I found it interesting that the lyrics to this song are actually a type of mocking of the people in the video. It is clear that there are sincere people of faith who find great value in living-out what they believe and yet the lyrics of the song devalue religious belief. I wonder if the smiling church-goers in this video knew what Kenny would be singing as they filmed?
Did you happen to notice that they weren’t dancing to the music? I would venture to say that there would be many people of faith in this video who would “want to go to heaven”… now.
