Healthy churches or “green churches” have a robust culture of adoration for God. Tragically, many churches and people simply admire God and do not adore God. What’s the difference? Admiration looks at what someone does. We admire people for their athleticism, intellect, the ability to make people laugh, etc. Adoration is at another level. Adoration is an expression of worship. People who adore God view God for who He is and translate life through the lens of God’s character. In our time there is an ongoing tragedy occurring, people fashion God to be manageable and “bite-size.” How terrible it would be to miss the God of the Bible because we have created a God in our own mind. A “God” that is neither powerful enough to rescue us at the point of deepest need nor unique enough to inspire us to live a life of radical obedience. Our prayer for you today is that you will be refreshed in your adoration of God. MP3 download.
