Stand to Reason posted some interesting excepts from Brit Hume on the Fox News Channel:
Then, Brit didn’t back down on ‘O Reily:
Although I don’t know what exactly Brit’s belief system entails, I must give Brit props for sticking to his guns and pointing our that Buddhism does not offer the objective forgiveness that Tiger so desperately needs. The type of forgiveness we all need. The type of forgiveness that is found in Jesus Christ alone.
Addition #1:
Brit Hume clarifies and explains even more so the unique solution Jesus offers for our dilemma:
Christianity is uniquely and especially about redemption and forgiveness. That is what the cornerstone of what the faith is about. Now other faiths aren’t hostile to the idea, but think of what the message of Christ and Christianity is: It is that the God of the universe sent His only begotten Son, who died a hideous death on the cross to atone for all of our sins. And we are thereby offered, through that act, a new covenant in which we are offered forgiveness and redemption on a continuing basis in return for our faith in God and our continuing efforts to live the Christian life. That is a unique doctrine.

Although I have heard of Pastors warning people to stay away from the subject, I sensed love and concern in Brit’s voice. He seemed to come along side of Tiger and not above him. He spoke from personal experience of forgiveness and redemption, not slandering Tiger, but out of respect for him and wanting the best for him. That is a rare quality among those in the spotlight today. A great example for me.

Wow, I’m very impressed with Hume. He did a better job standing for Christ on television than any number of “professional” Christians I could name.
