The men’s retreat was a blast. Two things stand out in my memory — the emphasis on God-centered leadership of our families, and a lot of good music.
Those two things converged at one point when we were talking up Seeds Family Worship music. The Williams family ordered two of the Seeds CDs (pictured here) right after the kiddos sang The Word of the Lord (track 1 on Seeds of Faith) a couple of months ago for the church, and those discs have paid for themselves many times over by now. To hear your four-year-old son going about the house singing “the LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (track 9, Crushed, on Seeds of Courage)… you can’t put a price tag on that.
What’s great about these CDs is that the words of the songs are simply Scripture set to music — and they do it very well. I was amazed that they could turn Romans 6:23 into a catchy lyric (“for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”) — check out track 3, Hey Man, on Seeds of Faith.
Click through to Christian Book Distributors and preview the tracks… I think you’ll be impressed:
P.S. The series carries a warning label: “WARNING: This package contains songs that may result in the listener unintentionally MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE.” It’s a cheesy slogan… but I have to admit it’s true.

Thanks for the recommendation Hugh. Lyrice Lee is the one who turned our Children’s ministry onto these cd’s. I find myself singing them every once in a while. Although it is children singing, God stirs my heart to the message of His word. Thus, it is quality for even a thirty-something year old. When teaching the children music we not only look to teach truth, through God centered songs, but we try to think long term. For instance, what would turn their hearts to God 25 years from now if a childhood song were to come to mind. You can’t go wrong with scripture.
