In the first week of our adult Bible study class, How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth, we touched on the nature of the Scripture itself. As part of that discussion, we mentioned that we are making the practical assumption that you have a basic understanding of the doctrine of the Word of God.
To help bring you up to speed on that topic, I’d like to point you to the study Ken Rutherford did on that very subject last spring. The podcast entries can be found on the Doctrine of the Word of God archive page of our site.
Ken’s study was based on the first part of Wayne Grudem’s excellent Systematic Theology. Grudem’s book is a modern classic — approachable yet rigorous, it has been useful not only for our adult Bible study class, but the teachers in our children’s ministry rely on it as well.
