If I had to list the top ten books I’ve read that have influenced my thinking, Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death would be on that list. Postman is a prime example of the potential extent of God’s common grace. Working from an unregenerate mind, Postman was (he died in 2003) an extremely insightful critic of modern culture. I would attempt to summarize his ideas, but I would not do them justice.
I bring this up not only to commend that book to you but also because there is a new Web site dedicated to Postman’s work. It contains book links, articles, and audio interviews.
