Piggybacking on Ken’s latest posting on the PG rating assigned to Facing the Giants, I’d like to pass on a resource. ScreenIt.com is an excellent site for evaluating whether or not a movie is appropriate for your family to see. It goes far beyond a simple movie rating, listing every detail that might be found objectionable.
With the detailed ScreenIt review, you’ll know exactly what you will find at the theater. As an aside, it can be quite disturbing to see every curse word and double entendre listed out on the movies that we see.
Another good resource when choosing movies is Dove.org. While ScreenIt tends to be objective and simply give the facts, Dove is an advocate for family-friendly films. They will often suggest family alternatives to the current block-buster releases that may contain unwholesome content.
