In case anyone has been checking, the last couple of Sundays have been heavy with songs written by Chris Tomlin, especially from his 2001 release “The Noise We Make”. This CD was Chris Tomlin’s first studio release. He had already contributed to the Passion college ministry considerably before he had the opportunity to record this collection of songs.
Obviously, I like the CD. I would dare say most folks would. Now Chris is not the most gifted vocalist(although he sings much better than me), but he makes up for it in his writing, arrangements, and instrumentation. Here’s a list of what songs we include in our times of worship:
“Forever”
“Kindness”
“The Wonderful Cross”
“Be Glorified”
My personal favorite on the CD is “Need You Now”. It’s a song of faith and direction that is well done from every aspect. I encourage you to check it out. I believe David Ennis would approved of the diversity of keys and tempos!
