The purpose of one’s existence is fundamental to living. If an institution or person does not fully realize the reason for being it will degrade the ability to function at every level. The church is no different. We must firmly understand why we exist in order to plot the course God intended. To miss or misunderstand this bottom-line issue is to diminish the effectiveness we can have in this world, both individually and as a group. Every person was created express the fame or glory of God. To enjoy the person of God and then express that reality to others. Creation was made to see God’s person and marvel at who He is. To the degree we can see and enjoy God is the degree we are turning the tables back to what the intent of creation was.
Grace Fellowship is firmly rooted in the understanding that God deserves to be made famous and that reality is not being realized most of this world. Grace Fellowship’s purpose is “to spread the fame of God.” As we live this reality we expect to see the people of Forsyth County, North Metro Atlanta, and, ultimately, the nations also set their hearts on living out this purpose. This is why we exist and why every follower of Christ should exist. When we plug-in to this understanding it frames why we should learn more about God, why we regularly express worship to God, why we witness to others about who God is, why we give so ministry can continue with the resources needed to accomplish this purpose. When the truth that we live to spread the fame of God is the lens through which we view life we will experience joy and God will be made more famous since that joy will spill over into the lives of others.
